Samsung ended the Galaxy S25 launch event in January with a Galaxy S25 Edge teaser. It only showed a glimpse of its new slim flagship, without going into details about its specs and all. The company recently confirmed that it will bring the Galaxy S25 Edge to MWC 2025. Now that the tech show is underway, did Samsung announce the phone? Let’s find out.
The Galaxy S25 Edge is at the MWC 2025 floor, but still not official
As promised, Samsung did bring its slim flagship to MWC 2025, which is now underway in Barcelona, Spain. However, just like the January Unpacked, the phone is only for exhibition, so visitors can’t actually touch or use it. The prototype on the exhibition floor reveals its design, but the specs are still a mystery.
Well, the design was already known as Samsung showcased the phone in January. The device is incredibly slim and has a flat frame with rounded corners. There’s a vertical camera bump on the back, housing two cameras and an LED flash unit. The cameras protrude further out of the camera bump — Samsung opted for this design to ensure that the huge camera rings don’t look odd. The phone is rumored to be just 5.84mm thick.
As far as the camera specs are concerned, leaks have hinted at a 200MP primary shooter, likely the same sensor as the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The other one could be a 12MP ultrawide lens (borrowed from the S25 and S25+) or a 50MP ultrawide lens (borrowed from the S25 Ultra). Either way, the Galaxy S25 Edge looks set to miss out on a zoom camera.
The display could be a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and an FHD+ or QHD+ resolution. The Galaxy S25 Edge might pack a 4,000mAh or smaller battery, as its slim profile doesn’t allow a bigger unit. More details should be available in the coming weeks. Rumors suggest Samsung will launch the phone in mid-April, but we are still awaiting confirmation.
