Gemini is rapidly catching up to ace the AI chatbot battle. Google keeps adding one feature after another, with many more in the pipeline. We recently learned that Gemini may soon allow you to chat about uploaded videos. Now, a new report sheds light on whatโs coming next. According to which, Gemini will let you upload up to ten images in a single prompt for analysis and context.
Gemini will soon let you upload over ten images for analysis
Folks over at Android Authority spotted that Google is working on making Gemini more useful by improving its image upload feature. Right now, users can upload one image at a time to get answers or add context to their questions. If they try to upload another image, Gemini asks if they want to replace the first one.
However, Google seems to be preparing an upgrade. In the latest Google app beta v16.11.32, the publication managed to unlock a hidden feature that allows multiple images to be uploaded at once. Though this option wasnโt visible before, it looks like the functionality was already built in. Just not activated. Once enabled, you could attach up to ten images in a single prompt, and Gemini could present an analysis for all of them together.
This isnโt the first time multi-image uploads have been spotted. Last year, the publication credited TestingCatalog, which found a similar feature in Geminiโs web app, but it didnโt work as expected. The AI would only analyze the first image while ignoring the others. Even now, the web version still doesnโt support multiple uploads. But with the Android app getting closer to launching this feature, a wider rollout may not be far off.
If Google fully rolls this out, it could make Gemini a much better tool for tasks like comparing images, asking something and bunch of more tasks.
