Samsung’s Bixby Gets AI-Powered Chat World Feature, But Only in China

by | Mar 20, 2025 | Bixby, News

Samsung has seemingly added a new AI-powered Chat World feature to Bixby, but it’s currently only available in China. This next-generation Bixby comes with the Galaxy S25 series running One UI 7. The feature allows users to get real-time information using their phone’s camera. Noted tipster Ice Universe shared a clip showing the feature in action.

Samsung rolls Chat World feature in next-generation Bixby, but only in China

It lets Bixby process real-world information instantly, helping users understand objects, text, or scenes around them. This technology first appeared on the Galaxy Z Fold SE (W25) with One UI 6.1.1. Right now, it is only available on select Chinese models, but there’s hope that Samsung will roll it out to more devices in the future. Maybe (?)

Instead of taking pictures or recording videos, users can simply open Bixby, enable Chat World, and point the camera at an object or text. Samsung continues to refine Bixby, making it a smarter and more useful assistant. As AI assistants evolve, Samsung is working hard to keep Bixby in the game.

With such upgrades like Chat World, Bixby can easily defeat Gemini and we aren’t even comparing it with Apple’s Siri. If Samsung keeps improving it, Bixby might offer a unique experience alongside other AI assistants. By making Bixby smarter, Samsung is giving users more choices when it comes to AI assistants. The Galaxy S25 series already favors Gemini, which helps with tasks across apps. But with features like Chat World, Samsung is making sure Bixby remains an important part of its ecosystem.

What we’re particularly annoyed with is that Samsung is keeping Bixby’s Chat World exclusive to China. That means some other important markets such as United States, India, UK won’t get it, which is something we’d urge Samsung to stop doing. In case you don’t know, be sure to check out our piece where we list some useful features that Samsung keeps locked to certain regions.
