Samsung Unveils Galaxy A56 and It’s Coming to the US!

by | Mar 2, 2025 | Galaxy A, News

A few days ago, we got a good look at the new design of the Galaxy A56 in high resolution renders. We also had a fairly concrete specs list to go along with it. Today, Samsung officially announced the Galaxy A56 at MWC, alongside the Galaxy A26 and Galaxy A36. One thing we didn’t quite expect—Samsung is planning to launch the Galaxy A56 in the United States in 2025.

Hardware

With a 6.7″ FHD+ Super AMOLED display, new Exynos 1580 chipset, 8GB RAM, 128GB/256GB storage, and One UI 7.0 onboard, the Galaxy A56 packs quite a punch. The phone also has a 5000 mAh battery and now features 45W charging (Super-Fast Charging 2.0). The Galaxy A56 (and also A36) feature a larger vapor chamber for improved cooling efficiency.

A56 cameras

In terms of cameras, the A56 features a 50MP primary camera (F1.8) and a 12MP Ultra-Wide shooter (F2.2), as well as a 5MP Macro shooter at F2.4. The new sleek triple-camera array around back is quite nice, it honestly looks better than the Galaxy S25 in this regard. Strangely enough, the selfie camera was downgraded from 32MP on the Galaxy A55 to 12MP on the Galaxy A56.

Software and AI Features

Hardware wasn’t the emphasis of this phone announcement, however. In their press release, Samsung spent more time discussing new AI capabilities and One UI 7. The company is using the term ‘Awesome Intelligence” for the numerous AI capabilities found on the new A series. Popular features like Best Face and improved Object Eraser trickle down from the S line to this new mid-ranger. Of course, not every feature found on the S series is present here, making Awesome intelligence a watered-down version of Galaxy AI.

Pricing and Availability

In a surprising move, Samsung is launching the Galaxy A56 in the United States. Last year, the Galaxy A55 launched in Europe, India, and other key markets, but only the A35 made its way stateside. As for pricing, Galaxy A36 starts at $399.99, available in Awesome Black and Awesome Lavender, with Awesome Lime exclusively available at Best Buy beginning March 26. Galaxy A26 starts at $299.99, available in Black beginning March 28. Galaxy A56 will be available later this year in the United States starting at $499.99.

If you want to get your hands on the A56 sooner, you’d need to import one to the states. The Galaxy A56, A36, and A26 will also be available for purchase in the UK on March 19th for £499, £399, and £299, respectively. Overall, the Galaxy A56 looks like an amazing value.
