While older Galaxy device owners are waiting for the stable One UI 7.0 update, it appears that Samsung will expand the beta program to the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy A55, and more. This suggests the stable rollout is still a few weeks away. Now, some of you might think about the release of the next incremental One UI 7 versions (before One UI 8), as it has delayed the stable rollout plan. Usually, it should be One UI 7.1 and One UI 7.1.1. But new reports refute this speculation.
Samsung may not release One UI 7.1 and 7.1.1
According to a popular tipster, Ice Universe, the next version of Samsungโs custom Android software is One UI 8.0. This means there are no One UI 7.1 and 7.1.1. This corroborates the previous report about Samsung canceling One UI 7.1 and 7.1.1. More importantly, a delayed One Ui 7.0 release may not impact the One UI 8.0 launch schedule.
Notably, the earlier report suggested that the upcoming foldable devices, Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7, will ship with One UI 7.0.1 out of the box. Samsung is even testing the new One UI 7 build for the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7, which could be the One UI 7.0.1. This version could be reserved for the foldable lineup only.
One UI 8.0 timeline: what to expect
As of now, Google is rolling out Android 16 beta versions to its compatible Pixel devices, with the final release expected later in Q2 2025. So, we can expect that this time, the South Korean giant will release its Android 16-based One UI 8 beta program according to its old schedule, which typically starts in Q3. An earlier report also suggested that Samsung would release the stable One UI 8.0 between October and November this year.
