Samsung has released the November 2024 security update for its Galaxy S22 series and Galaxy A52 smartphones. These devices join dozens of other models to receive the latest security patch. The company will soon update more eligible devices before introducing the December patch. The Korean firm is also expected to release One UI 7.0 beta next month.
November update available for the Galaxy S22 and A52
For Galaxy A52 users, the November update is available globally, including in the US. It comes with firmware build version A525FXXSAFXJ2 and requires a download of approximately 300MB. For the Galaxy S22 series, the update is currently available for carrier-locked models on all networks in the United States. It is also rolling out in Korea.
The firmware versions for the 2022 flagships are S90*USQS7EXK4 for American units and S90*NKSU6EXK4 for Korean units. The installation package of this update is over 600MB. The November 2024 security update addresses 52 vulnerabilities in Android and Samsung’s software. These fixes improve both the security and performance of Galaxy devices.
Additionally, the Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra are receiving Auto Blocker enhancements. With this update, your phone’s USB port cannot read any connections except for charging. This is when you have set Auto Blocker to Maximum restrictions. If turned off, USB functions aren’t blocked entirely. Several Galaxy devices received this feature with the November update.
These updates are rolling out gradually and may take several hours or days to reach all models. Users should install the update promptly to benefit from improved security measures. Those who haven’t received a notification can manually check for the update by going to the smartphone’s settings, selecting Software update, and tapping Download and install.
Samsung usually starts rolling out a new security patch early in the month. Expect it to drop the December SMR (Security Maintenance Release) next week. We will keep you posted.
