Samsung Releases GameBooster+ Module For Good Lock

by | Mar 14, 2025 | News, Samsung Apps

Just as we thought the Good Lock suite of apps for Galaxy devices was completely updated for One UI 7.0, Samsung releases yet another module. This time, one called Game Booster+. We initially heard about this module in December 2024, courtesy of a Samsung community forum moderator. Letโ€™s take a look at what this awesome new module is capable of!

Controller button remapping

You can now change what each button does on a physical controller. So you can pair an Xbox controller, and make the A button trigger B, for example. You can create up to 4 profiles, and target them towards different games. So one game could use the default layout, while your emulator could use another.

Game Booster GPU per-game settings

You can now set different graphics settings for individual games. You enable it from within Game Booster+, then you follow its link to the the native Game Booster settings, found in Settings > Advanced features > Game Booster settings. Under the Customisations for individual games menu, you have a list of all your games. Pick the one you want to change, and you have a whole bunch of options related to the GPU. You can optimise its performance for higher frame rates, boost frame rates, or increase resolution for sharper visuals. Thereโ€™s a toggle for PreTransform, which offloads GPU load when rotating the screen while playing games that utilise the Vulcan driver. And there is an AI texture enhancer, that can either ramp up quality for sharper visuals, or scale them down for improved performance. This might be useful in competitive titles, or visually stunning titles.

Control which apps are recognised as games

One of the biggest downsides of Game Booster is that some games arenโ€™t recognised as games, especially those from the Epic Games store. So for fellow Rocket League Sideswipe fans, you can finally improve the performance while playing. The frame rate booster may help get past the 60fps limit, giving you a competitive edge.

For now, Game Booster+ is rolling out via the Galaxy Store in South Korea. The release should expand to additional markets in the coming weeks. Overall, this looks like an exciting upgrade for gaming enthusiasts. You can now take complete control of your gaming experience on all Galaxy smartphones running One UI 7.0. Stay tuned to the site for more Good Lock and One UI 7.0 news!
