Samsung recently confirmed the Galaxy S25 launch on January 22, 2025. Alongside the new flagships, the company is working on a bunch of budget and mid-range phones. The Galaxy A56 and Galaxy A36 will lead its 2025 premium mid-range lineup. Both devices recently received official support pages, hinting at an imminent launch.

Amid the Galaxy S25 buzz, Samsung has ramped up preparations for the Galaxy A56 and A36 launch. It recently put up official support pages for the devices on its website. While this doesn’t necessarily hint at a launch date, we expect the new models to debut over the next few months. Samsung launched the Galaxy A55 and A35 in mid-March last year.
Leaks have already revealed plenty about both upcoming mid-rangers. Samsung has redesigned the camera array, with a vertical camera bump making a return. The Key Island button design stays on. The Galaxy A56 is likely to get an aluminum frame while the A36 appears to feature a plastic frame. Both phones may get a new selfie camera, with a 12MP sensor replacing the aging 32MP one.
Samsung might keep the battery capacity unchanged at 5,000mAh but the devices could be upgraded to 45W charging. At least the Galaxy A56 looks set for a charging speed boost. Both 2024 models charge at 25W maximum. The Galaxy A56 will run Samsung’s Exynos 1480 4nm processor, likely paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage options.
The Galaxy A36, meanwhile, could ship with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 or 7s Gen 2 chipset. The devices will debut with Android 15-based One UI 7 software and should be eligible for six years of OS and security updates.
