Samsung has been in the TV business for a while now. It first unveiled its LED plans at CES in 2009, and since then, we’ve come a long way. Today, it produces some of the best TVs on the market, from entry-level models to the most premium ones. Over the years, it has introduced several features, including SmartThings integration and Tizen OS.
One notable addition is the Color Booster, which enhances color saturation and brightness, resulting in a more vibrant and lifelike viewing experience. Now, Samsung may be considering either enhancing the feature or renaming it to Color Booster Pro. Last week, Samsung submitted a trademark application for Color Booster Pro, as spotted by SamMobile. It’s still under examination, however.
Samsung files trademark application for Color Booster Pro
On November 15, Samsung filed a trademark application with the UK Intellectual Property Office. The application was submitted under Class 9, which includes chipsets, microprocessors, and software designed to enhance the brightness, color, contrast, and visual quality of TVs, monitors, and other devices.
The application doesn’t throw off many details. It, however, mentions the owner and representative firm, which are listed as Samsung Electronics (Korea) and a Europe-based IP law firm, respectively.
Color Booster Pro, come already
Currently, there are only two options available in the Color Booster feature: users can either turn it off or switch between low and high settings. As the name suggests, Color Booster Pro hints that Samsung may be planning a more advanced tool, giving users greater control to adjust the picture settings to their preference.
For now, until anything is official, we have no choice but to wait and see how Samsung rolls out Color Booster Pro. Or, if we’re lucky, we might come across more rumors and leaks spilling the beans.
