Samsung Patents 360 Foldable Display, and Concept Renders Don’t Disappoint

by | Mar 28, 2025 | Galaxy Z, News

There’s no denying that Samsung dominates the foldable market and is a major driving force behind all the sleek foldables we see today. Staying in demand takes fresh ideas and a lot of experimenting. That’s why companies like Samsung are always filing a flurry of patents. A new Samsung patent suggests the company has been working on (or at least thinking about) an ultra-thin foldable with a 360-degree display. Pretty cool, right?

Any company as big as Samsung files tons of patents, but not all of them turn into actual products. Patents also come packed with graphs, charts, and diagrams. That’s not exactly eye candy for the masses. To give you a clearer picture of what Samsung’s 360-degree foldable display patent suggests, Atlyginimo Skaiciuokle and xleaks7 have shared concept renders.

Simply put, Samsung’s 360-degree foldable display patent suggests a device that folds both inward and outward with no restrictions. You can open and close it however you like. According to the report, the patent reveals two special folding areas, each designed at different angles. These sections have unique patterns and use soft materials like silicone or polyurethane. This allows the screen to bend without damage. Because right now, you will, for sure, break your device if you try folding it the incorrect way.

Here, folding inward works like closing a book, keeping the screen safe when not in use. Meanwhile, folding outward lets the display wrap completely around, making it usable from any angle. The device uses ultra-thin glass (UTG) and flexible materials to stay strong yet lightweight. Special folding points reduce stress, making it more durable. The camera works in any position, so usability isn’t affected. The design looks exciting. And we can’t help but wonder, will Samsung actually turn this patent into a real product? Well, there’s no harm in dreaming, I believe.
