Samsung has officially kicked off the highly anticipated One UI 7 rollout for Galaxy devices. However, before you start frantically checking for updates, there’s a catch. For now, the update is only available in South Korea, Samsung’s home country. So if you’re not seeing it on your device yet, don’t worry — a wider rollout is coming soon.
Samsung will gradually expand the One UI 7 rollout to more countries and devices
As of this writing, the One UI 7 update is available for the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition in South Korea. There have been a few reports of users receiving the update in the Philippines and Japan, but those appear to be imported Korean units. We have no evidence of One UI 7 rolling out to non-Korean versions of any of these phones.
This doesn’t some as a surprise, though. When Samsung announced plans to release One UI 7 on April 7, it specifically said that the rollout would begin in Korea. Other markets will “follow soon”, but there’s no release date for all regions. In the US, Samsung plans to begin the rollout on April 10. Some other markets are slated to get the update starting April 14.
Long story short, One UI 7 may not be available globally until next week. Samsung says the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Flip 5, Galaxy Tab S10 series, Galaxy S23 series, and Galaxy S24 FE will receive the big Android 15 update in April. Users with other eligible models must wait until May or June for it. The exact timeline will vary depending on the model and region, as Samsung doesn’t sell all devices everywhere.
To check for updates on your Galaxy device, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Since One UI 7 is a massive update, connect your device to an unmetered Wi-Fi network or ensure sufficient free mobile data to avoid unwanted data charges.
