Samsung has launched its 2025 Odyssey gaming monitor lineup alongside the new ViewFinity S8, setting a new standard for gaming. The latest lineup includes the Odyssey 3D, Odyssey OLED G8, and the ultrawide Odyssey G9. You can reserve your pre-orders for the new Odyssey lineup, though the company has yet to reveal its pricing. The reservations are not a commitment to buy, but if you do make a purchase, youโll receive a $50 credit toward it.
Usually, companies offer a lower resolution or a high refresh rate with OLED monitors. However, this year, Samsung has introduced Odyssey OLED G8, the industryโs first 4K resolution 240Hz refresh rate display, which is a major breakthrough. โThe new Odyssey monitors represent a significant leap forward in innovation, visual quality and performance, empowering gamers to fully immerse themselves and perform at their best,โ said Hoon Chung, an EVP at Samsung.
Samsung Odyssey 3D (G91F model): Glasses-free 3D gaming monitor
The new Odyssey 3D 27-inch monitor offers innovative new tech that lets you experience 3D visuals without needing to use glasses. It uses a lenticular lens and advanced eye-tracking technology. It is accessible via the Reality Hub and delivers a natural-looking high-definition 3D image. To optimize this 3D technology further, Samsung is partnering up with developers Nexon and Neowiz.
The Odyssey 3D also packs a video conversion AI feature, which can transform video content into immersive 3D. It has a 165Hz refresh rate and a 1ms response time and is compatible with both AMD FreeSync premium and NVIDIA G-Sync. You also get Edge Lighting, which syncs with the screenโs lighting.
Odyssey OLED G8 (G81SF model) and G9 (G91F model) monitors
The Odyssey OLED G8 (27-inch and 32-inch options) finally combines OLEDโs brilliant contrast and vibrance with amazing performance. It offers the highest pixel density in its class, with the 27-inch model offering a 4K resolution while also having a 240Hz panel. It uses Quantum Dot technology and VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 400. Both sizes of the OLED G8 monitors have a glare-free certification, which minimizes reflections.
To prevent burn-in, Samsung has its own Dynamic Cooling System and OLED Safeguard+. The response time is only 0.03ms, and it also supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-SYNC.
The Odyssey G9 improves the ultrawide gaming experience. It features a 1000R curved dual QHD panel with a 1ms response time, 144Hz display, and VESA Display HDR600. The Odyssey G9 also improves multitasking with its advanced Picture-by-Picture and Picture-in-Picture features.
Beyond gaming monitors, Samsung has also introduced the 37-inch ViewFinity S8 (S80UD model), which is the largest 16:9 4K Samsung monitor to date. The ViewFinity S8 has a 4K screen, a new ergonomic design, and offers some intelligent eye care features.
