Samsung has yet to release the beta version of One UI 7.0 for Galaxy users. But anticipation is building thanks to the promise of new AI features aimed at enhancing productivity. Adding to the excitement, a recent leak suggests that Samsung may introduce a Video Object Eraser feature with One UI 7.1, which arrives with the Galaxy S24 series in early 2025.
Samsung could soon bring a much-needed video editing tool to Galaxy devices
Samsung is known for consistently rolling out innovative features with its Galaxy devices, and this rumored addition could further solidify its reputation. According to an X post by @Sawyergalox, the company is working on a Video Object Eraser. As the name suggests, the tool will let users remove objects from videos. It uses generative AI to seamlessly fill in the gaps left after removing unwanted objects.
If implemented, this feature would mark a significant milestone for Samsung. It already offers object remover for photos, but One UI lacks a similar tool for videos. Of course, the latter is much harder to implement. However, a few other firms have already launched a similar tool. The Korean conglomerate wouldn’t want to be left behind.
Samsung has been actively pushing the boundaries with Galaxy AI. AI-powered object remover for photos may help further strengthen its AI portfolio and extend the lead in this industry. Unfortunately, Galaxy users must wait for it. This feature may not be part of One UI 7.0, which could enter the beta stage soon. Instead, Samsung plans to offer it with One UI 7.1.
The newer version will ship out of the box with Galaxy S25 phones. It is expected to introduce more AI features, including AI summary and AI emoji. Rumors suggest Samsung will unveil the new flagships on January 22, 2025. Hopefully, it won’t delay the One UI 7.0 beta much longer.
