When Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S25 series in January, the AI features stole the spotlight. Samsung talked a lot about its deep Gemini integration, showcasing how well the two companies are working together. But that may not be all shines, thereโs more in the pipeline. With Galaxy AI, we already get webpage summarization in the Samsung Internet browser, and Gemini might soon bring a similar feature.
Samsung Internet may soon inherent webpage summarization using Gemini
Right now, Gemini can summarize articles in Google Chrome and apps that use Chrome Custom Tabs, like Google News. It does this by attaching the full webpage URL, allowing it to analyze the entire article rather than just whatโs visible on the screen. This makes the summarization more accurate and contextually aware. However, this capability has been notably absent from Samsung Internet, where Gemini has so far only been able to generate summaries based on a static screenshot.
That could soon change. According to Android Authority, in recent testing with the Google v16.10.40.sa.arm64, Gemini successfully detected and attached full URLs in Samsung Internet for the first time. This suggests that Google is actively working to expand its Gemini features beyond Chrome. If and when this update officially rolls out, it will undoubtedly be a welcome addition for Samsung Internet users.
In the meantime, while we wait for this feature to become widely available, Samsung users can still take advantage of Galaxy AIโs built-in web summarization tool. It performs well in condensing webpage content into digestible snippets. So you can easily grasp key points without sifting through lengthy write-ups. Youโll need to be using a device that supports Galaxy AI to access the feature, however. Fortunately, several devices support Galaxy AI, including the Galaxy S23 and S24 series, the Z Fold and Flip 5, the Tab S9 series, and any newer models.
As of now, thereโs no official word on when full Gemini integration with Samsung Internet will roll out, but given the growing collaboration between Google and Samsung, it wouldnโt be surprising to see deeper AI-driven features arrive sooner rather than later.
