Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra is incredibly thin and lightweight
We have long known that Samsung plans to make the Galaxy S25 Ultra thinner and lighter than the S24 Ultra. The new model will also see a major redesign, switching from sharp corners and edges to curved ones. Noted tipster Ice Universe recently revealed that the device will be 8.2mm thick, making it 0.4mm thinner than its predecessor. At 77.6mm wide, it is also 1.4mm narrower.
The same source has now revealed the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s weight. It allegedly weighs 219 grams, a whole 14 grams less than the S24 Ultra. For reference, the iPhone 16 Pro Max is 8.3mm thick and weighs 227 grams. The Pixel 9 Pro XL is even thicker (8.5mm), though it weighs less than the iPhone (221 grams). Considering all this, Samsung has done incredibly well with the S25 Ultra’s design.
The new Galaxy flagship should look amazing with its thin and narrow profile with slim bezels. Samsung has substantially reduced the bezels to allow for a 6.9-inch display, up from 6.8-inch on the S24 Ultra. The device also retains a 5,000mAh battery and a built-in S Pen. A camera upgrade is also on the cards, with Samsung replacing the 12MP ultrawide lens with a new 50MP sensor.
The aging 10MP 3x zoom camera may remain unchanged, sadly. There have been rumors about Samsung upgrading to a 50MP camera there as well, but it is looking less likely. On the bright side, the Galaxy S25 Ultra should run Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset globally. It is said to surpass the iPhone 16 Pro Max’s A18 Pro “in all aspects”. Expect more Galaxy S25 leaks in the coming weeks.
