A few months ago, Samsung introduced a new Good Guardians (previously known as Galaxy Labs) module called Display Assistant. This module offers advanced per-app display customization for Galaxy users running One UI 7.0 beta. Now, the company has updated the appโs icon with a brand new design.
Whatโs new in the latest Display Assistant update?
The Korean firm recently rolled out an update for the Display Assistant app. The most noticeable change in this update is the refreshed icon. The new icon follows a similar design language as other first-party Samsung apps, including a bunch of Good Lock modules, all of which got a visual upgrade in One UI 7.0.
Apart from the redesigned app icon, the update does not bring any new features or changes to the overall design of the user interface. It is worth noting that Display Assistant is currently in the beta phase and works only on devices running One UI 7.0 beta (as mentioned above). So, for now, itโs compatible with the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Tab S10 series, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Z Fold 6.
Moreover, Samsung only offers this Good Guardians module in select countries, including South Korea. Eligible Galaxy owners can download the Display Assistant app from the Galaxy Store. It seems the company is planning to roll out the app widely with the stable One UI 7.0 update, which arrives sometime in April 2025.
Speaking of the use cases of Display Assistant, it lets users control the brightness duration for each app separately. You can enable unrestricted brightness even at high temperatures. It offers control over the speed at which screen brightness changes. It includes a Curtain Mode for additional customization. You can also limit specific applications to a 60Hz refresh rate. Furthermore, a Quick Panel toggle allows you to extend the screen timeout to 30 minutes.
