The Samsung Clock app already lets you set music from Spotify as your alarm sound, instead of the default ringtones. Now, recent code strings suggest that the app may soon add support for YouTube Music integration as well. To be honest, the default alarm tones on most phones can be pretty annoying, and some of usโmyself includedโwould prefer a more soothing way to wake up. While Spotify is already integrated into the Samsung Clock app, YouTube Music might be the next in line.
Samsung Clock may plug YouTube Music for alarms, reveals code strings
As spotted by Android Authority, code strings in YouTube Music app version 8.06.51 hint at a potential integration with the Samsung Clock app. The publication dug deeper and found several code strings suggesting that Samsung is preparing to add YouTube Music support.
This means that, soon, youโll be able to set songs from YouTube Music as your alarm on the Samsung Clock app. However, keep in mind that youโll need the YouTube Music app installed, along with a Premium subscription. While this feature is already available with Spotify, YouTube Music users will certainly appreciate this addition.
These APK teardowns donโt reveal an exact timeline, but the presence of the code suggests that the feature could be coming soon. Not all features make it to the final release, especially since itโs still in beta. But the possibility of Samsung Clock integrating YouTube Music seems very much plausible. While thereโs no specific release date yet, if youโre curious to try it out, the Google Clock app currently supports both Spotify and YouTube Music. Whatโs your take on this? Do you prefer waking up to something that jolts you out of sleep, or would you rather ease into the day with something more relaxing?
