Samsung has announced a scheduled maintenance window for the Galaxy Store. The company plans to temporarily suspend all access to the Galaxy Store and Galaxy Themes on June 16 from 01:00 to 04:00 AM GMT (June 15, 9:00 PM to midnight EST). During these three hours, users will be unable to download, install, or update apps, and Galaxy Themes will also be inaccessible.

Galaxy Store will be completely inaccessible for three hours later this month

This maintenance is aimed at keeping the platform running smoothly. Samsung describes it as a routine system update intended to maintain “seamless functionality.” However, the three-hour downtime marks one of the longer interruptions for the Galaxy Store in recent memory. “All access to the Galaxy Store server, including web and app-based entry points, will be unavailable,” an official notice reads (translated from Korean).

Samsung has also confirmed that redirects from other apps or services to the Galaxy Store will be blocked during the maintenance window. The store will be completely inaccessible across all devices, including non-Samsung models. Galaxy Themes will remain offline as well, meaning users won’t be able to browse, download, or apply themes, wallpapers, or icon packs during this time.

Note that Samsung may temporarily pause security and emergency updates that rely on the Galaxy Store. However, the core system functions and Play Store services remain unaffected. It’s also worth noting that the company may extend the maintenance beyond three hours if progress takes longer than expected. If that happens, access to the Galaxy Store and Galaxy Themes will remain suspended until the work is complete.

Interestingly, this Galaxy Store maintenance notice has only appeared for Galaxy users in Samsung’s home country, South Korea, so far. It’s unclear whether the downtime will impact users in other markets. Keep an eye on the Galaxy Store’s “Notices” section (Menu > Notices) for more information.
