Samsung may not launch the Galaxy S25 Slim at next week’s Unpacked, but its development is in full swing. The company recently uploaded the first One UI 7 test firmware for the phone to its server. This follows a leak that gave us our first look at the upcoming slim flagship. The device also surfaced on a benchmarking platform a few days ago.
Galaxy S25 Slim’s One UI 7 firmware spotted online
Rumors suggest Samsung will tease the Galaxy S25 Slim during the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra launch on January 22. The Slim model is expected to go official in May. Leaked renders revealed its design earlier this week, confirming a thickness of just 6.4mm. Now, we have evidence showing the ongoing software development for the phone.
X user @tarunvats33 spotted Galaxy S25 Slim’s first One UI 7 test firmware on Samsung’s server for Europe and several Asian markets, including India and the UAE. The initial build carries firmware version S937BXXU0AYA5, though that hardly matters. The key takeaway here is Samsung is working on the phone and may be planning a global launch in a few months.
As mentioned above, the Galaxy S25 Slim previously appeared on a benchmarking platform. It was the phone’s US version (SM-S937U) running the same overclocked Snapdragon 8 Elite processor that powers the rest of the S25 lineup. While the standard version has a top speed of 4.32GHz, the Samsung-exclusive overclocked version operates at up to 4.47GHz.
Like other Galaxy S25 models, the Slim is also expected to feature a minimum of 12GB RAM. While the Ultra may get a 16GB RAM variant in some markets, it’s unclear if Samsung will do something similar with the Slim. More details should emerge in the coming weeks.
