Samsung implemented support for Google Sports on Now Bar with One UI 7.0 beta for several Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy S24 and S23. However, several Galaxy users are complaining about its functionality, saying that sports scores from Google Sports are not showing up within the Now Bar. Thankfully, Samsung has acknowledged the issue, and you can expect the fix within a few days.
Now Bar is a pill-shaped UI element on the lock screen that shows information about real-time activities, including live sports updates via Google Sports. It works well on the Galaxy S25 but not on the Galaxy S24 and S23. Beta users expected the Now Bar to display live game scores, but instead, it shows nothing, even when correctly set up. Samsung says itโs investigating the issue.
Samsung is investigating the Now Bar issue with Google Sports on Galaxy devices
A Samsung moderator from the One UI Beta team confirmed that the company is investigating why Google Sports updates are not showing up in the Now Bar. โCurrently, Google Sports updates may appear in the lock screen notification area, but not on the Now Bar as expected,โ the moderator said. โThis behavior is being looked into, and weโre working to identify whether itโs due to compatibility between the Google app and Now Bar or a limitation in how live data is currently surfaced in the Beta build.โ
As of now, Samsung has not shared an exact date for a fix. However, since the stable One UI 7.0 release is nearing, we expect the company to include fixes for the issue with the upcoming big update. Samsung will start rolling out the update to eligible Galaxy devices starting on April 7 in South Korea. In the US, the update will land on April 10, with the Galaxy S24 series, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6 receiving it first. In the meantime, users affected by the Now Bar bug will need to depend on lock screen notifications for sports score updates.
