Original reporting from 04/02 followsโ€ฆ

Noted tipster Ice Universe, who has a solid track record, seems to have lost access to their X (formerly Twitter) account on Wednesday. They took to Instagram to share this incident and Weibo (h/t Tarun Vats), saying their account had been hacked. โ€œIt may take a few days, or it may never be recovered,โ€ they wrote in the caption. Until Ice Universe confirms theyโ€™re back in control, take anything from @UniverseIce on X with a bucket of salt.

Ice Universe has quite a massive following on X and elsewhere. Much of what is built on being a trusted insider for leaks and everything Samsung. At the time of writing, their X (@UniverseIce) account has over 550K followers, meaning nearly half a million people rely on them for insider info.

If a hacker has access, theyโ€™re likely to use this huge following to trick people into falling for a scam. Weโ€™ve seen hackers post crypto stuff before, and clicking on those links could mean losing real money. Itโ€™s a pretty serious situation, so for now, just ignore anything coming from Ice Universeโ€™s X account.

The last post on their account was made about nine hours ago, where the tipster confirmed that Samsungโ€™s Galaxy S25 Edge has been postponed. At first, it seemed like the hacker mightโ€™ve made the post. But no. Samsungโ€™s Galaxy S25 Edge is indeed being postponed, at least in the US, with confirmation from other sources, including tech reporter Max Jambor. Other than that, the hacker(s) havenโ€™t posted anything shady yet.

So, keep an eye out and donโ€™t fall for anything. Weโ€™ll update you if Ice Universe gets their account back.
