Samsung recently released the Galaxy S25 series with One UI 7.0 out of the box. The company is currently preparing to update older phones to the new One UI version. In the meantime, its Galaxy Book laptops are receiving new One UI 7.0-based updates. Samsung updated several Galaxy Book apps to ensure smooth integration with devices running One UI 7.0.
Samsung updates Galaxy Book apps with One UI 7.0 support
The Samsung Settings app for Galaxy Book recently picked up a new update. It adds One UI 7.0 (Book) support and a new version of Samsung System Support (version 7.0.10.0), which can be installed through the Device Care app. It also brings an update to the Nearby Devices app (download from the Microsoft Store), introducing the same UI found on the Galaxy S25 phones.
These updates bring seamless integration between Galaxy Books and phones for enhanced cross-device functionality. The Storage Share app (download from the Microsoft Store) enables Galaxy smartphone users to access their phone’s internal storage and files directly from Windows Explorer on their Galaxy Book. This feature works similarly to Link to Windows, offering a convenient way to manage files across devices.
Other such cross-device functions include Camera Share for Galaxy Books. It lets users use their Galaxy phone’s camera as a webcam for their Galaxy Book, improving video call quality with a higher-resolution mobile camera. With these updates, Samsung is making its ecosystem more unified, allowing Galaxy Book users to enjoy features similar to what Apple users experience.
Unfortunately, Samsung has taken longer than usual to bring One UI 7.0 to more Galaxy phones. It is still testing the big update. The Korean firm is expected to release the fourth beta update for the Galaxy S24 series next week. The stable rollout could follow later this month. Hopefully, we will see a wider One UI 7.0 release in March.
