Samsung’s built-in audio equalizer for Galaxy devices got a subtle makeover with the One UI 6.1.1 update. The redesigned interface features a cleaner, more streamlined look, complete with chip-based presets. The company also simplified the preset names, making them easier for users to understand and select.
Samsung rolls out a quality-of-life update to audio equalizer in One UI 6.1.1
Galaxy devices come with a built-in audio equalizer that lets you customize system sounds according to your sound preference. You get a bunch of audio presets that quickly adjust the sound frequencies for an optimized listening experience. You can also manually adjust the frequencies for custom effects or sound output.
The One UI 6.1.1 update brings a quality-of-life update to your Galaxy phone’s audio equalizer. Samsung replaced the list of audio presets with chip-based selectors. The chips appear below the frequency sliders — it was the other way around in One UI 6.1 and older versions. The frequency sliders are also leaner and taller.
Additionally, as you might have noticed in the screenshots above, the presets feature different names on One UI 6.1.1. They include a short description too. In fact, the preset frequencies have changed. We compared the presents with those on One UI 6.1, and none matched. There are six presets on One UI 6.1.1 instead of five.
The existing ability to create custom equalizer settings is still around. This is a subtle change that enhances your Galaxy experience, more so if you frequently use the built-in equalizer. Samsung has already rolled out One UI 6.1.1 to all eligible flagship models launched in 2022 and later. The update should be available globally soon.
The Korean firm is expected to introduce more UI changes and improvements with One UI 7.0. It might begin beta testing the Android 15-based update early next month. The Galaxy S24 series should receive the beta update first, followed by other models. The stable One UI 7.0 rollout may begin in December if not earlier.
