Samsung has begun a global rollout of One UI 6.1.1 for the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy Tab S8 series. The 2022 flagship devices are receiving the new feature update in Europe, the US, and a few other regions. It should soon expand to the rest of the world. Korean users received the update last week.
Galaxy S22 series gets One UI 6.1.1 globally
A few days ago, Samsung released the One UI 6.1.1 update for the Galaxy S22 and Tab S8 users in its homeland, South Korea. The big new update recently made its way into Europe with the firmware build number S90*BXXUBEXH7. It brings the September security patch alongside the new features and changes. The latest patch contains 67 vulnerability fixes.
The update is also available in the US, a Galaxy S22 user claims. However, we couldn’t confirm the same. Samsung’s official update tracker doesn’t yet reflect the latest rollout, nor do similar trackers from wireless carriers. The user says they received One UI 6.1.1 on their T-Mobile unit. If true, a nationwide rollout would be just a matter of time, so stay tuned.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Tab S8 series is also receiving One UI 6.1.1 outside South Korea. The update for the 2022 flagship tablet lineup comes with firmware version CXHB (last four digits). It’s unclear if Samsung is pushing the latest security patch to the devices. Korean Tab S8 units received the August patch, while the S22 trio received the September release.
This update contains a lot of other interesting things, though. One UI 6.1.1 brings new AI features such as Sketch to Image to your Galaxy S22 or Tab S8 model. It also brings camera enhancements, Gallery improvements, and tons of other goodies — some new features aren’t compatible. If you are using these devices, watch out for a massive new update in the coming days.
