Now Brief Exists in One UI 7.0 Beta for Older Galaxy Devices, but Will It Go Live?

by | Apr 1, 2025 | News, One UI

One of the most notable features of One UI 7.0 is the Now Brief. Samsung introduced this new AI feature with its flagship lineup, the Galaxy S25 series. Later, the company suggested that Now Brief could remain exclusive to the latest flagships, as the feature requires a powerful NPU, leaving older Galaxy users unhappy. Now, within the One UI 7.0 beta on older Galaxy devices, several users have discovered the hidden Now Brief feature, though the feature is currently unusable. This raises a question on whether Samsung will roll out the Now Brief with the stable One UI 7.0 update.

Now Brief shows up on several older Galaxy devices running One UI 7.0 beta

Earlier today, we reported that a user discovered the Now Brief feature on the Galaxy S24 running One UI 7.0 beta 6 using Activity Launcher. However, Samsung has disabled the feature within the software, and hence it does not function. Now, several older Galaxy device owners running One UI 7.0 beta have tried this trick to see if the feature is showing on their devices.

Since the One UI 7.0 beta is only available on select models, including the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Galaxy Tab S10 lineup, owners of these devices have reportedly managed to access the Now Brief settings page.

So, even though you have managed to access the settings page, do not keep your hopes high, as this does not look like a confirmation. Samsung has already confirmed that for deeper on-device AI experiences, a device must have a personal data engine and more powerful hardware, which are found in the Galaxy S25 series. The company will provide the best features based on the deviceโ€™s capabilities and user needs. This suggests the company has no intention to bring the Now Brief to older Galaxy devices, though the 2024 flagships are capable enough to run it.

Only time will tell if Samsung wants to surprise us by enabling Now Brief with a stable One UI 7.0 build for these older Galaxy devices. The stable One UI 7.0 update will start rolling out on April 7, though users in the US will have to wait until April 10 for its arrival.
