Now Bar Not Showing Google Sports In One UI 7.0? Try This Quick Fix!

by | Apr 1, 2025 | One UI, Tutorial

With recent beta builds of One UI 7 for various Galaxy devices, the Google Sport Scores integration in the Now bar was added. Except it did not work for many folks. Even Samsung themselves confirmed the issue. But fear not fellow sports fans, as there is an easy fix.

Hereโ€™s how to get Google Sports Scores working

First, go to Settings > Apps > tap the filter button, enable โ€˜Show system appsโ€™, and look for AlwaysOnDisplay. Tap on it, and go to Battery. Change the setting from Optimised to Unrestricted. Do the same for the Google app. While youโ€™re here, go back once, and select Storage, and clear the data from the Google app. This simulates a fresh install, so you may need to reconfigure your assistant preferences, search widget customisations, etcโ€ฆ

Once you have done that, back out to Settings, and go to Lock Screen and AOD. Then tap Now bar, and then Sports with Google. You should notice two highlighted links within the description, with an accent colour. Now click into each option, Personalise Search and Web & App Activity, and turn them off. For the latter, you donโ€™t need to delete your existing Google search data.

Next, reboot your device. Once your device comes back alive, return to Settings > Lock screen > Now bar > Sports with Google. Go back to those two links, and turn back on both Personalise Search and Web & App Activity. Reboot your device one last time, and it should be functional. Make sure you have some teams selected within the Sports from Google settings button, and within a couple minutes you should see something pop up.

Also top tip โ€“ Donโ€™t swipe away or clear all your notifications, otherwise the Live Notification wonโ€™t appear again until the next event starts, unless you go through these steps again.

I got Google Sports Scores working on my S24 Ultra, and is confirmed to work with S23 devices too. This method should work with the Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 too. Huge thanks to Larry for the tip!
