Samsung recently rolled out new One UI 7 beta updates for the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S23 series. The devices received several new AI features from the S25 lineup, including the option to replace Bixby with Gemini as the default digital assistant. But besides the features mentioned in the changelog, we noticed a couple of other changes in the new beta builds.
Galaxy S24 and S23 get additional features with the latest beta updates
Samsung previously revealed that the Galaxy S25’s Audio Eraser would come to several older models with One UI 7. The latest beta releases brought this AI tool to the Galaxy S24, Fold 6, and Flip 6. As expected, the Galaxy S23 lineup missed out on it. The 2023 flagships also miss out on natural language search support in Settings.
The rest of the features, including Gemini on the power button, AI transcription of call recordings, AI summary of web pages, and custom stickers, make their way into all of these devices. Additionally, we noticed features like Instant Hotspot and the option to use other third-party digital assistants.
Instant Hotspot is an Android feature that lets you share internet with other devices signed in with the same Google Account, not necessarily a Galaxy phone. It’s separate from Samsung’s existing Auto hotspot feature, which offers the same function within the Galaxy ecosystem. As far as third-party digital assistants are concerned, you can use ChatGPT and others as your default AI assistant.
Besides these feature additions, the latest One UI 7 beta update also finally introduced a newer Google Play system update to the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The device was previously on the November 2024 build but has now been updated to the February 2025 patch. All of these devices also received the April 2025 security patch with the new beta release. Samsung will push the stable One UI 7 update to these phones in April.
