Major One UI 7.0 Leak Shows UI Changes Up Close

by | Oct 24, 2024 | News, One UI

At SDC 2024 a few weeks ago, Samsung gave us our first glimpse of the One UI 7.0 update. Now, as the company approaches the beta release, we’re getting another detailed look at this major update courtesy of a leak on YouTube. A YouTuber appears to have gained access to an internal Galaxy S24 Ultra unit running One UI 7.0 and has shared a video showcasing some of the UI changes up close.

YouTuber leaks Samsung’s One UI 7.0 update

A five-minute video posted on YouTube shows Samsung’s One UI 7.0 design changes in detail. The redesigned Quick Panel now sits separate from the Notifications shade. Swiping down from the top right corner brings the Quick Panel, while you get notifications from the left side. Samsung should let users switch to a merged view like on One UI 6.1. One UI 7.0 offers pill-shaped houses for notifications and Quick Panel toggles.

One UI 7.0 also brings massive changes to the camera app, with Samsung moving most of the buttons to an expandable toolbar at the bottom of the screen to make them more accessible. When in video mode, some controls life video resolution and fps appear at the top. Overall, the new look aligns with Samsung’s broad One UI design philosophy — to make one-handed usage more convenient with easily reachable menus and buttons.

Additionally, One UI 7.0 introduces new lockscreen charging animations. When you put your phone to charge, you’ll see a pill-shaped bar with the current battery level. It then transitions to show more info, including the estimated time for a full charge. The battery icon itself has been updated to a pill with an option to show the battery percentage inside it. The icon also gets a new charging animation.

This YouTube video also gives us an early look at some of the new One UI 7.0 icons for Samsung apps, including Gallery, Settings, and Camera. As you can see, the Gallery icon looks different from the one we saw at SDC. Samsung is continuously chopping and changing things before the beta release. The company also updated homescreen widgets. App icons and widgets look more vibrant and modern. Expect more One UI 7.0 leaks in the coming days. We will let you know when the company officially announces the beta rollout.
