LockStar Removes Custom Lock Screen Notifications In One UI 7.0

by | Mar 23, 2025 | News, One UI, Samsung Apps

Good Lockโ€™s LockStar module has long been a favorite among Galaxy users who love customizing their lock screens. One of its most popular features allowed users to personalize their lock screen notifications by adjusting their size, transparency, and color, giving them more control over how notifications appeared. However, with One UI 7.0 update, you can no longer customize lock screen notifications using the LockStar module.

Samsung confirms you canโ€™t customize lock screen notifications in LockStar module

After updating to One UI 7.0, you can no longer change appearance of lock screen notifications in LockStar. Even if the module was installed, any adjustments to notification transparency, size, or style would no longer take effect. Samsung has since confirmed that notification customization in LockStar no longer works in the new update.

Previously, LockStar offered a level of personalization that went beyond Samsungโ€™s default settings. Users could tweak their notifications to be more subtle, match their wallpaper, or stand out for better visibility. But now, those on One UI 7 have lost that flexibility. A community moderator confirmed, as spotted by SammyFans, that the feature is not supported in One UI 7.0. Thereโ€™s a possibility it could return in a future update if enough people request it. For now, users still on One UI 6.1.1 or older can continue customizing their lock screen notifications, but those who update will have to adjust to the change.

That said, while this feels like a compromise, LockStar in One UI 7.0 still brings couple of new tools and features. Some additions include third-party app widgets, an expandable favorite apps menu for shortcuts, and sticker support from the Galaxy Store. You can also customize the lock screen help text, adjust screen timeout settings, and even change the lock icon with custom images. Additionally, the new โ€œReorder Itemsโ€ option allows users to layer widgets and move them freely.
