Less than two weeks remain until Samsung’s highly anticipated Galaxy S25 launch, scheduled for January 22. As we move closer, fresh details about the new flagships are emerging. A noted industry insider recently revealed key specs for all three models, including confirmation that display brightness will remain unchanged. The devices are now available for pre-reservation on Samsung’s website.
Fresh Galaxy S25 leak confirms unchanged display brightness
According to X tipster @AhmedQwaider888, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will sport a 6.9-inch display with a 91.4% screen-to-body ratio. In comparison, the S24 Ultra’s screen-to-body ratio is 88.5% — it has a 6.8-inch display in a slightly larger profile. In practical terms, this means the new flagship has slimmer bezels.
We do not have these details for the Galaxy S25 and S25+, but the tipster confirms screen sizes of 6.2-inch and 6.7-inch respectively. All three models are said to boast a peak brightness of 2,600 nits, unchanged from the S24 series. There have been rumors about Samsung potentially bumping the brightness to 3,000 nits, but the plan seemingly didn’t materialize. An earlier leak also mentioned an unchanged brightness.
Additionally, we have confirmation about the display resolution. Once again, Samsung offers a QHD+ panel on the Plus and Ultra models, while the base S25 gets an FHD+ display. The same goes for the battery capacity and charging speed. The former two pack 4,900mAh and 5,000mAh batteries respectively, with 45W wired charging support. The smallest model has a 4,000mAh battery with 25W charging.
Samsung has already confirmed Qi2 wireless charging support for the Galaxy S25 series. However, there’s some confusion regarding the charging speed. While the official Qi2 specification limits wireless charging to 15W, the new flagships are rumored to offer 25W wireless charging, at least the Ultra model. If true, Samsung must have implemented a custom solution on top of Qi2, which adds compatibility with magnetic accessories.
