How to Enable Custom Icon Packs on Galaxy Devices (Theme Park)

by | Aug 6, 2024 | Tutorial

Samsung’s Good Lock is a powerful customization suite for Galaxy devices. It offers multiple modules to customize almost every aspect of the One UI user interface. From the Quick Panel and navigation bar to notifications, routines, and the camera app, Good Lock lets you customize everything. You can also create custom themes and icon packs for your phone. It requires the Theme Park module, a relatively new Good Lock module. Here’s how to use Theme Park to create custom icon packs on Galaxy devices.

Create custom icon packs for your Galaxy device using Theme Park

Originally a Good Lock module, Theme Park is now available as a standalone app and works independently. If you already have Good Lock installed, you will find the module listed under the Make up tab. You can download it from there or manually search for Theme Park in the Galaxy Store. Alternatively, you can open this link on your Galaxy device to directly land on the app page. If the app is not available in your region, you might want to sideload it using an APK file from the web, though we wouldn’t recommend doing so.

Once Theme Park is installed on your phone, open it and grant the necessary permissions. After that, follow the steps below to create custom icon packs for your Galaxy device. You can also customize icons for each app separately. The steps for that are listed further below in this article.

1. On the homepage, tap the Icon button on the bottom navigation bar.

2. Your default icon pack should be shown. Tap the Create New button to create a custom icon pack.

3. You will land in the Iconpack studio. If you want to customize your default icon pack, proceed to step 5. If you have downloaded or want to download external icon packs from the store and customize them, tap the Iconpack button (the blue button with a gift icon).

4. Select the icon pack you want to customize or download more. The Samsung icon packs section takes you to Galaxy Themes, while the third-party icon packs section lets you download icons from the Google Play Store.

5. Once returned to the studio, pick the icon shape you like from the bottom sheet. If you don’t see an option to change the icon shape at the bottom, tap the pencil icon at the top right.

6. From the same sheet, you can pick an icon color and a tray color.

7. The example icons on the screen reflect every change you make, so you get a live look at your custom icon pack before saving it. If you want to check out more icons with your design, tap on the three vertical dots in the top-right corner and select Change icons.

8. If you are satisfied, go back and tap the download button between the pencil icon and three vertical dots. If not, you can make further changes before saving the icon pack.

9. You will be asked to name your icon pack. Enter a name and tap OK to save it.

10. You will return to the Icon tab. Select the icon pack you just created and tap Apply.

That’s it. You have successfully created a custom icon pack and applied it to your Galaxy smartphone. If you download an external icon pack, the changes may not apply to some apps. You can follow the same steps to create more icon packs. Theme Park also lets you edit your creations, so you can make changes whenever you want. If you don’t want to create a whole icon pack but customize icons for select apps, follow the steps below.

How to change the icon for a specific app

To change the icon for a specific app, you have to repeat steps 1 and 2 above to land in the Iconpack studio. After that, follow the steps below.

1. Tap the three vertical dots in the top-right corner and select Change icons.

2. Select the app icon you want to customize. You can replace the icon with an image from the gallery or the external icon pack you have downloaded. You can also proceed to edit the default icon.

3. Let us replace the Settings icon with a Galaxy S24 Ultra image. If you do not want to customize it further, go back and save it (see steps 8, 9, and 10 above). If you want to customize the icon, select the Edit icon button.

4. On the editing studio, pinch in/out on the image to zoom in/out. You can select the shape and colors for the icon from the same page.

5. There is no save button here, so tap the back button (back gesture) and select OK on the pop-up sheet.

6. Your customizations are applied to the icon. You can go back and save it (see steps 8, 9, and 10 above).

This way, you can use Theme Park to create custom icon packs or customize an individual icon. Theme Park also lets you create custom themes, and customize your keyboard, Quick Panel, and Volume Panel. Any app you install after applying a custom theme or icon pack will automatically adapt to it, making it a seamless process. If you ever decide to go back to the default theme or icon pack, open the app and apply the default version.
