Google Meet Not Working on Galaxy S25 Ultra? Here’s a Quick Fix

by | Jan 31, 2025 | Galaxy Book, News, Samsung Apps

Some users are reporting that Google Meet is not working properly on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. In case you missed it, Samsung has already started shipping out Galaxy S25 pre-orders in the US as early as yesterday.

Google Meet is not working for several Galaxy S25 users

The Google Meet issues started popping up on the Samsung Members forum earlier this week. One user mentioned the Galaxy S25’s camera wasn’t working on Google Meet, even though the green camera icon was visible in the top-right corner. This meant the camera was on, but the video feed showed a black screen. We were able to reproduce this issue on our own unlocked Galaxy S25 Ultra unit (see below).

Then today, someone posted on Google Meet Help saying there was no video on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, even though all the settings seemed to be fine. We’ve heard from a few others dealing with the same thing, so it looks like it might be a bigger issue. It could be that Google Meet is experiencing issues as the app transitions from Legacy Calling to the newer implementation.

Samsung Galaxy phones in the US come with Google Meet preloaded, and the banner at the top proudly displays Made for Samsung Galaxy. This suggests the app is optimized for Galaxy devices. But it’s unclear what’s causing the issue, despite optimization. So there’s a simple workaround that you can try in the meantime.

Here’s how you can fix if Google Meet is not working for the Galaxy S25 series

Before you get started, make sure you’ve got the latest Google Play system update. To check, go to Settings > Security & privacy > System & updates > Google Play system update. Now, here’s what you need to do:

  1. Long-press the Google Meet icon and tap the (i) button
  2. Scroll down and tap Storage
  3. Tap Clear cache, then hit Clear data
  4. Relaunch the Google Meet app

If that doesn’t work, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app, then clear the data again before you open it up on your Galaxy. This should fix all issues. We went through this process and were able to fix the camera not working in Google Meet on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Let us know if you run into any problems or have any questions.
