Google Made the Most Popular Galaxy AI Feature

by | Sep 30, 2024 | Galaxy AI, News

Samsung aims to bring Galaxy AI to more than 200 million Galaxy users by the end of this year. It appears the company is nearing that milestone. Following the recent One UI 6.1.1 rollout, the number of AI-equipped Samsung products in its homeland, South Korea, surpassed 20 million units. Ironically, the most popular Galaxy AI feature is the one made by Google.

Samsung flaunts Galaxy AI features but Google deserves some praise

Samsung recently announced that over 20 million Galaxy smartphones in South Korea now support Galaxy AI features. The company achieved this milestone on the back of strong sales of new models like the Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Flip 6, as well as AI updates for older devices. It updated the Galaxy S23, Fold 5, Flip 5, S22, Fold 4, Flip 4, and a few other models.

Introduced with the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy AI offers tons of AI-powered features that enhance your smartphone experience. Google’s Circle to Search tool also debuted with the Samsung flagships. It turns out it’s the most popular feature of Samsung’s AI suite. The feature lets you quickly search for anything on the screen, be it text, image, or any other object.

Google has since added other functions like music search and share to Circle to Search. Samsung, meanwhile, has expanded Galaxy AI to offer more tools. According to the Korean media, Note Assist and Photo Assist are the next most popular features. Sketch to Image, a relatively new tool introduced with One UI 6.1.1 may soon grow in popularity too, considering how well it works.

Alongside the feature suite and supported devices, Samsung is working on adding new languages for Galaxy AI tools. Currently, AI features are available in 16 languages. The company aims to add at least four more languages by the end of 2024. “We aim to increase the number of languages supported by Galaxy AI from the current 16, including Korean, to 20 by the end of the year,” a Samsung representative said.
