If you’ve ever wished your Samsung Galaxy phone could look and feel the way you want, Good Lock is your dream come true. This powerful customization suite lets you tweak everything from the lock screen and task switcher to animations, gestures, and even how your notifications behave. Unfortunately, this gem of an app isn’t available everywhere. Samsung has announced plans to release it globally via the Play Store, but it hasn’t yet. So, what’s the status? Good Lock should go global soon — if Samsung follows through on its promise
Back in May 2024, Good Lock briefly appeared on the Google Play Store, sparking excitement among Galaxy users worldwide. Although Samsung quickly pulled the listing, clarifying that it was only testing compatibility and not meant for public release, the move signaled something bigger. For the first time, the company showed clear signs of preparing Good Lock for a wider global rollout.
However, months passed without further development — until January 2025. Samsung began the new year by announcing a huge update for Good Lock. It unveiled tons of new features and enhancements for the customization suite, which includes over 20 modules. These updates were supposed to go live with One UI 7, and they have. Good Lock was also supposed to finally go global, but it still hasn’t.
Thankfully, it may not be a long wait now. While Samsung has already released One UI 7, it is still fine-tuning the update. The final stable build is set to roll out next week, starting April 7. We belive Samsung will then release Good Lock in more markets, finally offering it via the Play Store. If this assumption turns out to be true, Good Lock’s global availability is just around the corner.
Note that One UI 7 won’t roll out to all eligible models on the first day. The Galaxy S24 series will initially receive the update in South Korea before Samsung gradually expands the coverage to more devices and markets. It expects to complete the rollout by June. Hopefully, Good Lock’s expansion will tag along as Samsung rolls out One UI 7 worldwide. We will keep you posted.
