Galaxy Z Fold SE Joins Samsung’s One UI 7 Update Party

After the Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6, Samsung is rolling out One UI 7 to the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition (SE). As you might expect, the update is available only in South Korea so far. The company will release the update in more markets in the coming days.

The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition is the latest to receive One UI 7

While Samsung rolled out One UI 7 beta programs for the Galaxy S24, Fold 6, and Flip 6, the Fold SE never got access to the beta software. However, the company released the stable build for the special edition foldable on the same day as the other three. This model was sold in Korea and China, and Samsung is currently updating the Korean version. The Chinese unit should join the party soon.

As for other Galaxy devices, the Korean firm previously said that One UI 7 would hit US shores on April 10, followed by a global release on April 14. It could roll out the update in a few other markets before that, but the new One UI version seemingly won’t go global until next week.

Samsung has also revealed its One UI 7 release timeline for Korea, and we expect an identical timeline for the rest of the world. The company doesn’t expect to complete this rollout before June. Galaxy users can check for new updates by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

Interestingly, even as One UI 7 begins rolling out, rumors suggest that Samsung is already preparing for an early One UI 8 release. If reports hold true, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 may ship with One UI 8 out of the box as early as July or August 2025. Stay tuned as we track One UI 7’s global rollout, and keep an eye out for more details on One UI 8 in the coming weeks.
