Galaxy Watch FE LTE Official with Sapphire Glass Display, $249 Price

by | Sep 26, 2024 | Galaxy Watch, News

Alongside the Galaxy S24 FE and Galaxy Tab S10 series, Samsung today launched the Galaxy Watch FE LTE. It’s the cellular version of the first Fan Edition watch launched in June. The company only released the Bluetooth version back then. It said the LTE model will follow in October — it goes on sale on October 3.

Samsung launches Galaxy Watch FE LTE with unchanged specs

The Galaxy Watch FE is mostly a rebranded Galaxy Watch 4, bar for a few salient upgrades. Samsung fitted it with its modern wristband featuring a one-click ejection mechanism. Introduced on the Galaxy Watch 6 series, this strap design is more practical than the Watch 4’s pin-based mechanism. additionally, the new model has sapphire glass on top of its display, an upgrade from the Gorilla Glass DX+ panel.

The rest of the setup remains the same. The Galaxy Watch FE comes in a single 40mm size and is powered by Samsung’s Exynos W920 chipset. The 5nm processor has a CPU speed of 1.18GHz and boasts a Mali-G68 GPU and 1.5GB RAM paired with 16GB internal storage. Samsung offers a 1.2-inch Super AMOLED display of 396×396 pixels resolution and AOD (Always-on Display) support.

The watch has an aluminum body and features 5ATM, IP68, and MIL-STD-810H durability ratings. A 247mAh battery keeps it running throughout the day, and even more, depending on your usage. The Galaxy Watch FE charges wirelessly, with a charging puck included in the box. Don’t expect a power adapter though — you don’t get that with products several times its price (looking at you, Galaxy Z Fold 6!).

For connectivity, the Galaxy Watch FE has NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and LTE (not on the Bluetooth version released in June). The wearable runs Wear OS 4-based One UI 5 Watch with a host of health and fitness monitoring features. The One UI 6 Watch update will add more health features to the device. The FE model also supports Samsung’s Camera Controller app and Bixby voice assistant.

Price and availability

As announced in June, the Galaxy Watch FE LTE costs $249.99. It is available in Black, Silver, and Pink Gold colors. Samsung offers a guaranteed trade-in of $50 for pre-orders, plus an additional $50 to first-time buyers on Samsung Shop. You also get 3X Samsung Reward points on your pre-order. If you don’t want the LTE variant, the Galaxy Watch FE (Bluetooth) is currently selling for $179 — it debuted at $199.
