Samsung has some exciting plans ahead. One of which involves refreshing the Galaxy Watch series lineup. The first signs of the upcoming Galaxy Watch upgrade, likely in the form of the Galaxy Watch 8, have started to surface. A tipster has revealed the model numbers for the Galaxy Watch 8, hinting at the existence of two variants. As you might expect, these will be the Bluetooth and LTE versions.
Galaxy Watch 8 Bluetooth and LTE variantsโ model numbers revealed early
According to @theordysmโwho also revealed that an Expert RAW app update is in the worksโnew details have emerged regarding the alleged model numbers for the Galaxy Watch 8. As highlighted by @theonecid, the Galaxy Watch 8 will come in two variants: Bluetooth and LTE.
The Bluetooth versions are labeled SM-L320 and SM-L330, based on firmware L320XXU0AYC4/L320OXM0AYC4. Meanwhile, the LTE versions for the US are identified as SM-L325U and SM-L335U, backed by firmware L325USQU0AYC6/L325UOYM0AYC6. The โUโ suffix confirms that these are US units. These model numbers follow Samsungโs typical naming pattern, making it highly likely that they belong to the Galaxy Watch 8. For reference, the previous Galaxy Watch 7 had model numbers SM-L310 and SM-L315, so this progression makes sense.
No surprises here, we know theyโre coming, Samsungโs prepping for them
Here are the latest test firmware info
BT/WI-FI:
SM-L320/L330 (โGW8โ): U0AYC4
SM-L500 (โGW8Cโ): U0AYC4LTE (US):
SM-L325U/L335U (โGW8โ): U0AYC6
SM-L505U (โGW8Cโ): U0AYC6 pic.twitter.com/CA3HZoc52xโ Theordysm (@theordysm) March 29, 2025
The tipster makes it obvious that Galaxy Watch 8 Classic may co-exist. They say that SM-L500 could be the Bluetooth version, while SM-L505U should be a LTE variant. Albeit, these carry โGW8Cโ next to them, which means Galaxy Watch 8 Classic. That also aligns with a previous report that spotted Galaxy Watch 8 Classic in the GSMA database, carrying same model number.
Given that Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra in July 2024, the Galaxy Watch 8 could follow a similar timeline. This isnโt mere speculation but a calculated estimate. Hence, Q2 2025 seems like a more fitting launch window. Around the same time, we might also see the debut of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and possibly the Z Flip 7 FE. Speaking of which, we just revealed detailed CAD renders for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. Worth checking out if you havenโt yet.
