As Samsung gears up for its annual Developer Conference (SDC) on October 3, Galaxy fans are speculating about whether the company will announce One UI 7.0. But regardless of what happens at the event, the beta program may not arrive anytime soon. A reliable industry insider says the big update is still some time away.
Our wait for the One UI 7.0 beta may go on
Historically, Samsung has teased big OS updates like One UI 7.0 at SDC. However, the company typically launches beta programs well ahead of the annual conference, making an official announcement at that time logical. This isn’t the case this year. One UI 7.0 beta is nowhere in sight, leaving fans wondering if the new version will make an appearance on the big screen tomorrow.
Meanwhile, prolific Samsung leaker Ice Universe says the company may not release One UI 7.0 anytime soon. “I don’t know if One UI 7 will be mentioned at SDC24, but it’s a safe bet that One UI 7 won’t be released for quite some time,” the leaker posted on X. They didn’t say beta but likely referred to it rather than the stable version, which should take at least a month to arrive after the beta release.
The same source previously said that Samsung is focused on making One UI 7.0 as polished as possible before a bate rollout. The company has been investing time in development and internal beta testing to ensure a smooth experience for users from day one. However, at this point, it looks like a too-long delay. Rival firms have already started public beta testing of their Android 15-based updates.
Hopefully, Samsung is getting closer to the desired smoothness of One UI 7.0. A delayed release of the beta update should also mean a shorter beta program. As such, we might get the stable build by the end of November. Of course, it’s all speculation for now. An announcement at SDC tomorrow should get fans excited. We will keep you informed.
