Samsung has started rolling out the first software update to the Galaxy Tab S10 series in the US. The Galaxy Tab S10+ 5G is receiving the November security patch and Auto Blocker enhancements with its first update. The Ultra model should join the party in the coming days. The update will also soon roll out to the global versions of these tablets.
Galaxy Tab S10 series grabs its first software update in the US
Samsung launched two Galaxy Tab S10 models this year. It scrapped the base model and only released the Plus and Ultra. While both models are available in Wi-Fi and 5G connectivity options in most global markets, the company doesn’t sell the 5G-enabled Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra in the US. The Plus still comes in both variants stateside.
The Korean firm recently released the November security update for the Galaxy Tab S10+ 5G in the US. It is available across several carrier networks, including T-Mobile and Verizon. The new firmware build number for the tablet is X828USQS2AXJ7. Samsung’s official changelog confirms Auto Blocker enhancements alongside the latest security fixes.
Auto Blocker is a security tool designed to block malicious apps and other potentially harmful stuff to protect your data. With the November update, Samsung is rolling out stricter USB restrictions to Galaxy devices. When you set Auto Blocker to “Maximum restrictions,” it now blocks the USB port for everything except charging the device. You cannot use the USB port to transfer files or access wired Android Auto in your car.
As far as the content of the November security patch is concerned, Samsung detailed 52 patches earlier this week. The vast majority of these fixes come from Google and other partners. Some patches also concern flaws in the Exynos processor. More Galaxy phones and tablets will receive the November security update in the coming days. We will keep you posted.
