During the MWC 2025, Google showcased two new Gemini Live features โ Live Video and screen-sharing capabilities. Rolling out later this month on Android devices, these features require a paid subscription. However, Galaxy S25 users will get access to both new tools for free, at least for a while. Other Galaxy device owners still need to get Google One AI Premium plans, which bundle the most capable AI models with Gemini Advanced.
Samsung Galaxy S25 users can enjoy new Gemini Live features for free
Samsung, in partnership with Google, bundles a free Gemini Advanced subscription of 6 months with each Galaxy S25 purchase. This offer also includes free 2TB Google One storage. Since the new Gemini Live features are part of this subscription, all Galaxy S25 users can access them for free for six months. After that, they must pay for a monthly or annual subscription to continue experiencing premium features.
If you have not claimed this offer yet, open the Gemini by pressing and holding the volume button on the Galaxy S25 phone. Now, tap on your profile avatar in the top right corner and hit the Try Gemini Advanced option. You will now see the Start Trial button; tap on it. Finally, add a payment method and enjoy the free Gemini Advanced subscription for 6 months as well as 2TB of Google One storage.
What do the new Gemini features do?
Now, coming to the new two Gemini Live features, the Live Video feature was first showcased at the Google I/O 2024 event. You will be able to access it within the Gemini Live interface by clicking a new video icon. Google has shared a video on YouTube showcasing the feature. Basically, it uses your phoneโs camera to view your surroundings, and then it analyzes the content in real-time to provide answers to your queries.
Speaking of the screen-sharing capabilities, a new โShare screen with Liveโ button within the Gemini AI assistant will automatically allow the AI to record the screen and answer usersโ real-time queries about what they see. Whatโs interesting here is that AI can continue answering as users switch between pages or apps. You can check out the demo video below.
Google says these features will be available to all Android users with a paid Gemini Advanced subscription starting later this month. While Galaxy S25 users can access them for free for six months, they will eventually need to subscribe too.
