For the past couple of weeks, some Galaxy S25 Ultra users have been complaining about a weird issue with the ultrawide camera. The newly introduced 50MP lens creates a weird vibrating sound along with noticeable shaking. The issue seems to be related to hardware rather than software. Some users said that Samsung service centers fixed the issue by replacing the affected camera unit.
What are users saying about the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s ultrawide camera issue?
The Galaxy S25 Ultra boasts a new 50MP ultrawide camera, an upgrade from the 12MP ultrawide camera found on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. It looks like there are some issues with this lens, at least on some units. Several users took to Reddit, X, and Samsung’s official forum (via Tech Issues Today) to post their complaints regarding the ultrawide camera shaking or vibrating issue.
A few weeks ago, one user wrote on Reddit, “I am having problems with my camera. When I am trying to zoom under 1x, the camera goes crazy. You can hear and feel some vibration from the camera, and you can see the vibrations in the camera app. Not being able to get focus. Is this a hardware problem or a software bug?”
Another user also shared their experience on Reddit: “I am facing a weird issue when I switch to Ultra Wide(0.6X) lens. It struggles to focus and creates a weird stuttering sound. Anybody else facing this issue?” You can see the video below to get an idea of what the issue looks like.

It’s due to a sensor defect — the service center should fix it for free
Some basic troubleshooting steps, like resetting the device and clearing the cache on the camera app, did not fix the issue. As mentioned above, it seems to be hardware-related, possibly due to a defective sensor. Affected users brought their phones to the Samsung service center, where Samsung confirmed that it was a hardware issue. The service center then replaced the defective camera unit for free under warranty and extended the warranty up to 2 years.
We also checked our Galaxy S25 Ultra units but did not experience any camera shaking issues — all camera units are working properly. So, as of now, it is unclear how widespread the issue is, but considering the growing number of complaints on social media platforms, it appears that several users are experiencing the problem. If your unit has a problem, visit the nearest Samsung service center soon.
