Samsung plans to roll out the first update for the Galaxy S25 series this week, or at least for the S25 Ultra. This update will contain fixes for some camera bugs, including a banding issue in night mode photos, the company revealed. So far, no other major camera problems have been reported by Galaxy S25 users, nor have we spotted any.
Galaxy S25 Ultra to get camera fixes with its first update
Over the past few days, several Galaxy S25 Ultra users have reported a banding issue in low-light photos. Affected images show blurry patches, reducing overall quality. While we haven’t been able to reproduce the problem on our units, numerous reports on Reddit and Samsung’s official community forums highlight the issue.
Tom’s Guide reports that the banding problem exists only on the 200MP primary camera. The 50MP ultrawide lens doesn’t produce such blurry patches even in low-light conditions. While not a massive inconvenience, this can be annoying if you like capturing the night sky. Thankfully, it’s a problem Samsung could fix easily, and the company’s on it.
In a statement to Tom’s Guide, a Samsung spokesperson confirmed that its developers have addressed the issue internally. It will be rolled out to users with an upcoming update. “We are aware of a limited number of cases where images appear blurred when taking photos in Night Mode on Galaxy S25 Ultra and have issued a fix to resolve in the next software update rolling out starting this week,” the spokesperson said.
While they didn’t specify a release date, it appears the Galaxy S25 series will receive its first software update anytime now. The update could bring other minor bug fixes and stability improvements. One UI 7.0 still has some UI glitches that Samsung needs to address. We will keep a close eye on these developments and let you know when the rollout begins.
