Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra has been generating buzz with rumors of an upgrade to 16GB RAM. However, just weeks before launch, there’s disappointing news for potential buyers. It appears that not everyone will get to experience this RAM upgrade. The company reportedly doesn’t plan to sell the 16GB RAM variant globally.
Galaxy S25 Ultra’s 16GB RAM variant may be limited to select markets
The 512GB and 1TB storage variants of the Galaxy S25 Ultra are said to get this RAM upgrade, with the 256GB variant still featuring 12GB of RAM. However, according to renowned Samsung leaker Ice Universe, the company won’t offer the 16GB model in all markets. It’s allegedly confirmed for China and South Korea, but the rest of the world could still get 12GB RAM with higher storage options.
If this is true, Samsung will likely disappoint many once again. The Korean firm’s decision to limit the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition slim foldable to China and South Korea hasn’t gone down well with Galaxy fans. Now, it’s repeating a similar move with the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s RAM upgrade. This comes despite rumors suggesting that increased RAM is crucial for efficient on-device AI processing.
Samsung could have offered a choice between 12GB and 16GB RAM across all storage options. However, the company seemingly doesn’t want to deal with so many RAM and storage configurations. It remains to be seen if this decision affects sales. The Korean firm expects to sell at least 16 million Galaxy S25 Ultra units this year.
