Galaxy S25 Thin Design Fully Revealed in New Leak

by | Sep 12, 2024 | Galaxy S, News

Galaxy S25 Ultra leaks have been flowing for quite awhile now. We’ve seen plenty of Samsung’s next Ultra flagship, but what about the S25 and S25+ design? Thanks to a new exclusive from Android headlines and Onleaks, we have our first detailed look at the Galaxy S25. As expected, the design language resembles the Galaxy S24, save for a few small details.

For starters, the camera module on the back now has rings that resemble the Galaxy Z Fold 6. This design appeared on the Galaxy S25 Ultra early renders, so this is not a huge surprise. Overall, I’m not a huge fan of adding the Z Fold camera ring design to the S series. I’ve always felt the S series had a more elegant design than Samsung’s foldables and this change disrupts that a bit. In addition, the Galaxy S lineup is known for premium flagship cameras, an area the Z Fold line struggles mightily. It’s confusing to me that these camera modules now have the same design language, but perhaps Samsung is thinking about global branding.

Thin Design of the Galaxy S25

The other elephant in the room is the thinness. At just 7.2mm this is Samsung’s thinnest S model since the Galaxy S6. Thinking back on the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge design, those phones were almost too thin for me and had a big of sharpness to them. I hope the S25 doesn’t feel that way in hand. To be sure, Samsung industrial design and build quality has come a long way in 10 years. I’m optimistic that the thinness will not get in the way of solid build quality and comfort. The Galaxy S25 is also rumored for a boost in the RAM department, with 12GB the new standard. Hopefully Samsung bumps the starting storage up to 256GB on the base model, but they will likely stick to the annoying standard of 128GB.

We expect the Galaxy S25 lineup to break cover in early January 2025, consistent with the release timeframe for the S24 series.
