Samsung is expected to expand its flagship smartphone lineup next year, introducing a Slim model. If rumors are accurate, the Galaxy S25 Slim will arrive a few months after the regular S25 lineup. However, it may not be available everywhere, at least not from the beginning. While a global launch is planned, the company may initially release the phone in limited quantity in select key markets.
Samsung plans a limited initial release of the Galaxy S25 Slim
The Galaxy S25 Slim appears to be a sleek flagship with top-tier specs, potentially slotting in between the Plus and Ultra models. We are expecting a Plus-size display (6.66 inches) and Ultra-quality cameras, though the device may lack a second zoom camera. Samsung might cleverly cut corners to ensure a competitive edge.
A recent certification revealed that the Korean firm plans to launch the phone globally, including in the US. This came as a relief for Galaxy fans after it sold its slim foldable (Galaxy Z Fold SE) only in South Korea and China. However, a new report from Samsung’s homeland suggests the Galaxy S25 Slim may see a limited release at launch. It has allegedly planned an initial production volume of only three million units for the phone.
According to the report, the Korean behemoth wants to see the market reaction to a slim flagship that might not be very affordable. The idea is to gauge if there is enough space for such a product in its portfolio, which is already highly crowded. If Samsung sees enough demand for the Galaxy S25 Slim, it may expand the production volume later.
The slim flagship is expected to debut in the second quarter of 2025, sandwiched between the rest of the S25 models and the Z series foldables. Samsung will also launch a Galaxy S25 FE (Fan Edition) in late Q3 or early Q4 next year. It will be an entry-level model with a lot of compromises. The FE model delivers a near-flagship experience at a lower cost. Stay tuned for more about Samsung’s Galaxy S25 lineup.
