Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 lineup sure looks exciting, with concrete evidence suggesting an exciting addition, the Galaxy S25 Slim. When (and if) the S25 Slim hits the shelves, it will compete with the rumored iPhone 17 “Slim”.
However, unlike other Galaxy S25 phones, such as the Galaxy S25, S25+, and Ultra, which are expected to debut early next year as scheduled, we may have to wait a little longer for the Galaxy S25 Slim. That’s according to Max Jambor on X. Jambor says Galaxy S25 won’t be released alongside the Galaxy S25 lineup.
So, when will Galaxy S25 Slim see the light of day?
We don’t know officially yet, but according to rumors, the Galaxy S25 Slim is expected to release in the second quarter of 2025, possibly between April and June. Not much is known about the “Slim” variant so far. But it is anticipated to feature a 6.7-inch flat screen, a 200MP main camera with an ISOCELL HP2 sensor, and, of course, a slimmer body compared to its siblings.
As for the April to June timeline, the Galaxy S25 Slim could go on sale around the same time as the Google Pixel 9A. However, to see how it fares against the iPhone 17 Slim (or whatever Apple decides to call it), we may have to wait until fall, when Apple typically releases its new iPhones.
There’s some good news, at least
Samsung releases a Fan Edition (FE) model every year as part of its existing lineup. So, with strong rumors suggesting a Galaxy S25 Slim edition in the works, one might wonder if there will be a Galaxy S25 FE at all. For now, according to Jambor, the Slim edition will not replace the S25 FE.
All things considered, we could see five Galaxy S25 models if everything goes as planned and anticipated. Next year could certainly be Samsung’s as it continues to target improved market share while competing against Chinese manufacturers in select markets.
