Samsung may have locked the date for the Galaxy S25 launch. The new flagships could go official on January 22, 2024. Multiple sources recently hinted at the date. The launch event could take place in San Francisco, USA.
Galaxy S25 launch tipped for January 22
Noted leaker Max Jambor recently posted a cryptic message on X. “22.1,” the post reads, with no context whatsoever. However, the timing hints at the Galaxy S25 launch date. This date, January 22, aligns with Samsung’s typical Unpacked event schedule, often held on Wednesdays. Earlier this year, it unveiled the Galaxy S24 on January 17 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 on July 10, both of which fell on a Wednesday.
In a separate report, a Korean publication revealed that Samsung will host “a new mobile product unveiling event” on January 23, 2024. The report also confirmed that the event will take place in San Francisco, USA. Since it will already be January 23 in Korea when it’s daytime in San Francisco on January 22 (local time in both regions), the two reports align perfectly, further supporting the speculated launch date for the Galaxy S25.
Samsung usually opens pre-reservations for its new flagships about two weeks before the launch event. As such, Galaxy S25 reservations may begin around January 8. Pre-orders for the devices should begin immediately after the launch, while general sales may start a week or two later. The company started general sales of the Galaxy S24 series on January 24, a week after the official launch.
Leaks about the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra should pick up pace in the coming weeks. The new flagships will run Android 15-based One UI 7.1 out of the box. Samsung is expected to start beta testing of the new version (One UI 7.0) next week. It may not release some new AI features with 7.0 but rather introduce those with 7.1 to promote the Galaxy S25 trio. Exciting times are ahead in the Galaxy camp.
