Samsung is rumored to ship the Galaxy S25 series with an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Elite globally. We have already seen the base S25 and the Ultra model on benchmarking platforms running the new Qualcomm chipset. The Plus model also recently appeared with the same processor. All three models surfaced with 12GB of RAM.
Galaxy S25+ spotted with 12GB RAM and an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Elite
The Snapdragon 8 Elite is Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor for smartphones. The 3nm chip boasts two prime CPU cores clocked at 4.32GHz and six performance cores clocked at 3.53GHz. Samsung’s Galaxy S25 trio will use an overclocked version of this chipset, with the two prime cores operating at 4.47GHz, though the base speed remains unchanged.
Over the past few weeks, both the Galaxy S25 and S25 Ultra surfaced on Geekbench running this overclocked Snapdragon 8 Elite. The Plus model also recently joined its siblings. As expected, the phone showed up with 12GB of RAM. Samsung is expected to ship the Galaxy S25+ with 12GB RAM as standard. The base model might come in an 8GB variant, while the Ultra should offer up to 16 gigs of memory.
The US version of the Galaxy S25+ (model number SM-S936U) scored 3,160 in single-core CPU tests and 9,941 in multi-core CPU tests on Geekbench v6.3. Its GPU score came in at 19,081. All of these figures are impressive and a testament to the Snapdragon 8 Elite’s unprecedented raw power.
As you might expect, the Galaxy S25 series will run Android 15 out of the box. Samsung will likely ship the phones with One UI 7.1. It is expected to start One UI 7.0 beta in early December, though a precise release date isn’t available yet. Meanwhile, our Galaxy S25 Mystery Box program is now live.
