Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 Edge is shaping up to be a sleek and lightweight device. While the iPhone 17 Air may be slimmer, the Edge is still pretty thin at just 5.84mm. A reputed industry insider also confirms that the phone will weigh just 162 grams, substantially lesser than the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
Galaxy S25 Edge weight confirmed in new leak
Despite its ultra-thin profile, the Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to pack flagship-grade features. Samsung seems to be positioning it as a thinner alternative to the standard Galaxy S25 and S25+, or even the S25 Ultra. That’s because the device might be a mix of all three. It could feature the Ultra’s 200MP primary camera, the Plus model’s 6.7-inch display, and the base S25’s 4,000mAh battery.
All this while maintaining a super slim and lightweight design. While the Galaxy S25 Edge was previously expected to weigh less than 160 grams, tipster Ice Universe recently confirmed its weight: 162 grams. For reference, the Galaxy S25+ weighs 190 grams, while the Ultra weighs 218 grams. The base Galaxy S25 is as heavy as the S25 Edge.
The tipster also suggests that the pricing will be close to the Galaxy S25+, which starts at $1,000. While full details are yet to be revealed, the S25 Edge could be an exciting addition to the Galaxy S25 lineup. It reportedly runs on the same Qualcomm processor as the rest of the lineup — an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset paired with 12GB of RAM.
However, sleekness will remain its primary selling point. Samsung has compromised on a lot of things to make the Galaxy S25 Edge slim. It has only two cameras on the back, and the other one is an ultrawide lens. This means you don’t get a telephoto zoom camera here. Battery life is also a concern considering the big display.
