Galaxy users! You have a new Google Play system update (GPSU) waiting for you. Google has released the July GPSU for Android devices, including the Galaxy family. The update is available for the Galaxy S24 series and several other models globally. The remaining devices will also get it in the coming days. The update size varies depending on the device model.

Galaxy S24 and other Samsung devices get the July Google Play update

Google Play system updates are updates to various software components and system apps that make up the core of Android OS. Google regularly releases these updates to add new features and enhance the security of these components so users get a reliable experience. Usually, new builds come every month, but some devices may skip a few once in a while.

Well, Samsung Galaxy devices didn’t receive a new GPSU for several months last year, so there can be such weird issues at times. But you can expect a new update at regular intervals. The latest July Google Play system update is now available for Samsung’s Galaxy S24 and other devices. It is also rolling out to Android devices from other brands.

For the Galaxy S24 Ultra, the latest GPSU has an OTA (over the air) file size of 75MB. The Galaxy S24 is getting the same update with a 28MP OTA file size. So, depending on your device model, the update may weigh less or more. You can check for new Google Play system updates from the Settings app. Scroll down to the About phone section and navigate to Software information.

Now tap on Google Play system update (your current GPSU build is mentioned) and wait for the device to search for a new build. If it finds a new Google Play system update, you will be prompted to download and install it. Your phone requires a restart to complete the update process. You can repeat the steps to check if the latest version has been installed successfully.
